Welcome back, Trifectans! We hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed reading all of the submissions for this weekend's animal-inspired prompt. Some of you came up with some outlandishly creative pieces. It was a fun prompt for us, and we hope you enjoyed it, too.
This weekend's challenge was judged by the community. In first place, you chose Lumdog's perfectly punny Bad Day At The Bar.
And rounding out the Trifecta was Old Dog, New Tits and her newest installment in the (self-proclaimed) Smart Ass Collection: The One Where I Grouse About Monkeying Around with Trifecta. Check out what she did with the seal.
Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to everyone who participated. I think I laughed more this weekend than any other time in Trifecta history.
On to Trifecta proper, where I'm going to continue the animal theme. This week we want a 33-333 word response to:
DINOSAUR

Harry penguined his way to the bar and honked: “Tequila, leave the worm!” The bartender says, “Hey, I don’t like your attitude and you walk funny. You’re on thin ice around here, buddy.”Second place went to JannaTWrite's Candy Or A Kiss? She calls herself a suck up for using three animals, but this weekend she only had to appeal to the community. It seems you guys are just as smitten with threes as we are.

On to Trifecta proper, where I'm going to continue the animal theme. This week we want a 33-333 word response to:
DINOSAUR
1: any of a group (Dinosauria) of extinct often very large chiefly terrestrial carnivorous or herbivorous reptiles of the Mesozoic era
2: any of various large extinct reptiles (as ichthyosaurs) other than the true dinosaurs
3: one that is impractically large, out-of-date, or obsolete
2: any of various large extinct reptiles (as ichthyosaurs) other than the true dinosaurs
3: one that is impractically large, out-of-date, or obsolete
Please remember:
- Your response must be between 33 and 333 words.
- You must use the 3rd definition of the given word in your post.
- The word itself needs to be included in your response.
- You may not use a variation of the word; it needs to be exactly as stated above.
- Only one entry per writer.
Good luck!
Thanks, Trifecta community. You've provided me with a welcome distraction (and feather in my cap) during my Should-I-Stay-Or-Should-I-Evacuate decision here in New Orleans?
ReplyDeleteP.S. That was the original title of the Clash tune of 1982.
P.P.S. I was lying in my first P.S.
P.P.P.S. I'm sorry for lying. It won't happen again.
P.P.P.P.S. Which is another lie.
As a Tampa person, I'm sorry that we deflected the storm and it's heading your way.
DeleteP.S. Not really.
P.P.S. Be safe!
That is so funny. Congratulations to both of you!
