Trifecta: Week Forty-Four

Is it possible to be three things at the same time? Neil Gaiman thought so, and we now know, without question, the answer to that question is yes. In first place, we have Amy from Don't Feed the Birds, Please with her visually-stimulating and humorous take on being three things at once.

Taking second, Glass of Fancy puts a twist on a typical, familial relationship. In third, R.L.W. from Snippets and Scraps describes an inter-species love that is far less titillating and far more lovingly unsentimental than this statement might indicate. Check out both of the winners if you don't believe us or if you haven't already.

Kudos to our winners and a big thank you to all who make this community thrive. And a big welcome to the new writers in our midst. Any friend of @neilhimself is a friend of ours. Speaking of the written word, please hop over to the new piece up for critique and give some thoughtful consideration as to how your fellow Trifectan could polish and improve upon their work.

And now, the weekly prompt.

BLIND (adjective)

1
(1) : sightless (2) : having less than 110 of normal vision in the more efficient eye when refractive defects are fully corrected by lenses
b : of or relating to sightless persons
2
a : unable or unwilling to discern or judge <blind to a lover's faults>
b : unquestioning <blind loyalty>

Please remember:
  • Your response must be between 33 and 333 words.
  • You must use the 3rd definition of the given word in your post.
  • The word itself needs to be included in your response.
  • You may not use a variation of the word; it needs to be exactly as stated above.
  • Only one entry per writer.
Have fun!

  3. Dinosaur! Argh, how can you beat the awesomeness of a dinosaur? (Even if he is extinct :) )
I was definitely reminded of that quiet museum atmosphere. Second and third place were very good too. ^__^

  4. This brought up a memory of my father and while Anzac Day is an Australian (and New Zealand) commemoration, the sentiments, are, sadly, universal.

  7. Don't forget to hop over to the critique page and give Renada Styles a moment of your time. She's been brave enough to give us four parts about fear, and I don't want her to fear that she's being ignored! As long as your feedback is constructive, you don't have to hand out hearts and stars. And if all you have time to do is state one thing that works or doesn't work for you and why, then you're still doing the author a tremendous service. We rely on each other as writers, and we listen to each other speak.
