Trifecta: Week Forty-Two

No stranger to first place, Writing at the Margins, Bursting at the Seams, knocked us out with 33 perfect words that flowed seamlessly from our own 33.
The last strains of sunlight lingered in the corners, grasping every available point of refraction. She slid her fingertips along the glass wondering if this was all there ever was. Or could be. Of course it was all. But she’d wanted more. She lifted the hammer into the air and brought it down against the glass table. If she couldn't have it, neither could the sun.
Barbara, from The Purplemoose Gazette, brings home second this week with a piece that makes us wants to hug our kids a little tighter and check our calendars for relevant reminders.  Linda Vernon takes third by making us laugh out loud with her imagery and literary humor.

Congrats, as always, to all of our winners and a big thanks to all who participated.  We're happy to see some new faces in the crowd and would love to have any newbies hop on over to the Meet Your Fellow Trifectans tab and introduce yourself.  We'd love to get to know more about you.

Don't forget, we have a new critique up and awaiting some constructive criticism from fellow Trifectans.  Please take the time to read and leave some honest, respectful feedback.  And now, on to the weekly prompt.

  5. I'll be done in ten minutes. Hell week got infinitely worse today, and I didn't get my writing done. But I have a story damn it. It just won't be my best most polished this week.

    1. Ha! You managed to get in in time. Some stories won't be contained, polish or not.

    2. When I initially submitted, the story was half done and there were six minute until the deadline. I went ahead and published and linked up incomplete. I finished ten minutes or so after the deadline. Not my usual style.
