Trifecta: Week 112

Hello again Trifectans! Firstly, please give yourselves a huge pat on the back. For our Trifextra 102 challenge you all helped us reach a new record of 116 entries! Thanks to everyone who is writing, reading and commenting here. And a warm welcome to more new Trifectans who joined the throngs this week. You are all awesome.

It may have been the week of St Valentine, but we asked you for a 33-word story of love gone wrong, eliminating some of the perhaps obvious word choices. Once again you did not disappoint and we were more than relieved to have passed the judging over to you. Here is how you voted:

Two ladies share our love-gone-wrong-crown this week. Kelly Garriott Waite gave us Equator, a metaphorical reminder of how sticking to your own path in life, might mean leaving others behind. Leigh’s Wordsmithery shared the entertaining and educational Loveolution. Enjoy:
You headed east. I, west.
Every step doubling our distance.
Halfway round the world, we met, eyes questioning.
You stepped from the path, altered your course slightly north.
I continued west, remaining true.

To the tips of her cilia, she knew—wordlessly—he wasn’t her type anymore. She was unbreakably brine, and he was earth-bound.

At the end, she undulated alone as all about her desiccated.
There is a long list taking the silver this week. They are: Draug with The L Word; Valerie with Choice Words; Gina with You Know What They Say About Revenge; Sprouting Anew with Teenage Heartbreak; Bjorn with His Light Shines; Apoplectic Apostrophes with Getting Over You; Ally Atherton with Teddy; and JannaTWrites with Love "Stinks".

Rounding off our winning circle in third place is Just A Thought with Shh; Kir with The Defense Rests; Red's Wrap with Until Death Do Us Part; Mommy Dourest with No Love, No Tears, No Pain Etc; and Hypothetically Writing with True Love, Not So Much.

Well done to all our winners and thanks to all of you who took the time to read and vote.

Now onto this week’s Trifecta prompt. We’re back to one word, its third definition and the 33-333 word limit.

Happy Writing!
